Nobody plans or pulls off a wedding alone.
Fawn and I were truly, truly blessed during the last year to have the help of family and
dear friends to help us create the day we wanted our wedding day to be.

I wanted to first take this opportunity to thank those of you who were there on
Sunday, October 16, 2011. You were invited because you are and will always be special to us.
Thank you so much for adding to what was an incredibly magical day.

To those of you who photographed and videotaped and posted on Facebook-thank you so much. We are trying to look at everything from everyone. Please know that were appreciate all the time you took to capture and preserve our big day.

Although we will be sending out formal thank-you notes, Fawn and I wanted to make sure that we thank you all for your most generous outpouring of love and gifts. Thank you all so very much.

And now a few special thank-you's to those of you who went above and beyond to make sure the day went as smoothly as possible...and that I still had some hair at the end of the day.

Thank you for being there, along side us, as our journey came full circle.
We love you.
And damn! You all looked fine!

Jen Sinclair
Our most talented photographer.
How did we get so lucky to have someone so talented...
so innovative...so energetic...
and so truly kind to be the person taking our wedding photos?
From the minute we met you we knew we were in good hands.
Thank you for your creativity and passion. Your talent is complimented by your good heart and enthusiasm not only for your craft but for life itself.

Scott
THANK YOU Scott for your most generous gift of our wedding cake.
You created the wedding cake Fawn and I had dreamed of and never asked for a thing.
You are a master cake maker and a good friend.
We will be eternally grateful.

Lisa
Our coordinator.
Thank you Lisa for taking the reins and allowing me to enjoy the day. Thank you also for taking on the task, on top of everything else you were trying to juggle, of creating that beautiful fruit and cheese tower.

Natasha
Our bartender.
Thank you for the gift of your friendship, professionalism, calm and most incredible smile.

Shanti Lynn
Thank you for taking such good care of Fawn.
Somehow you made my beautiful bride even more beautiful.

George
Thank you friend for the gift of your talent.
We are blessed to have you in our lives.
Cloves would have been proud.

Dennis
Oh Piggie. What can we say?
With all that is going on in your life, you managed to be assistant decorator, den mother, slipper be-dazzler, and the strong shoulder Fawn needed when I wasn't allowed to be there.
We love you, Dennis. You are truly fabulous.

 Teresa
We needed your wisdom and guidance and you did not let us down. Thank you for listening to us and taking a bunch of ideas and words and feelings and creating a ceremony that reflected not only who were are as bride and groom
but which also set us on a good solid path to begin our life together.

Ron, Ginny, Stephen and Lauren
Not only did you drive for 6 hours to be part of our special day, but you worked from beginning to end, tirelessly, with no complaints, to help set up and then break down. You took a huge weight off my shoulders. And then, just when we thought you couldn't possibly do anymore to show how much you care about us, you decorated our hotel room and created a little more magic for my bride and I. You are true friends. We are so incredibly grateful and love you all.
The sweet tea's on me!

James and Rachel
If you look in the dictionary under the word friendship, you will find the definition for the word friendship. If you look into our hearts you will find the gratitude we have for the gift of your tireless energy on our wedding day. As if throwing us an awesome shower wasn't enough, you were there for us from start to finish. You never stopped and just kept asking "What's next?"
Thank you both. We are so fortunate to be able to call you friends.

Aleta, Shayne and Journey
You're always there for us and not just because you're family, but because you are good, kind people. Thanks for shouldering so much of the day's-and night's-tasks
and doing it all with a smile on your faces.

Thank you all...so very much
Jody & Fawn

I'm MARRIED!!!!!!!!

Guess this means that there's no more need for this blog.

When I come back down to Earth...and back from my honeymoon, I'm going to post just a few more times and then close down shop.

Thank you all for sticking by me through this whole adventure.

I'm about to write my three favorite words.

"Extra gravy please."

Naaah. I'm just messing with you.

GETTING MARRIED
TOMORROW!

Friday was all about the rehearsal and the rehearsal dinner. There is a wedding tonight at our venue so Friday evening was the only night we could gather with our wedding party and go over the when's and how's of the ceremony.
The biggest detail we needed to work out was the timing of Fawn's walk down the aisle. Or rather, Fawn's walk down the sidewalk. The sidewalk leading from the start of the sidewalk to the steps of the old church is about a hundred yards long. It was tricky timing the piece of music for the bride's entrance with the distance with Fawn's steps. We got it worked out. If all else fails, we will put Fawn on a skateboard and pull her with a string.
Rehearsal went really well. Our coordinator Lisa has things under control and I know that at about 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, I will hand over the clipboard of power to her and just enjoy my day with my lady, my family, and my friends.
As with every wedding there were a few glitches yesterday.
We had some issues with our linens. They have been resolved.

We had some issues with our music. They have been resolved.
There was some family drama.
So any way...
I did a little too much yesterday, I guess, and ended my day in agony. My head and neck were screaming at me, loudly, and finally fell asleep sometime around 12. Or 1. I have no clue really. I'm a little wiped this morning. Gotta play it safe today. No heavy lifting.
Let's focus on the positive though.
The weather cleared up.
Our programs came out beautiful and the store manager even gave us a 30% discount....just 'cuz she likes us.
We ended the day with our wedding party at a restaurant for a nice dinner. It was a little awkward at first because the hostess couldn't figure our where to put us. So there we all stood. Right in the middle of a very busy restaurant waiting for a table as the 12 year who was in charge of the floor stared blankly and gave us attitude. Eventually someone who knew what they were doing, and who graduated the 7th grade, put together a long table for us. With the exclusion of 4 of the younger people, we were all able to sit together.
The 20 year old's didn't mind though. They were just happy to not to have to hear all our old people talk about insurance and replacement hips and mortgages.
We ate, we drank, we ate some more, we laughed and we ate some more. Huge portions at that place. Huge. I think we all walked out with white styrofoam boxes.
This morning we are having a breakfast with some of the wedding party at Silver Diner. I can't stop thinking about pigs-in-blankets and, really, that's what a groom should be thinking about the day before his wedding.
The day before his wedding.
Wow.
I'm getting married tomorrow.
I'm getting married tomorrow.

I'm getting married tomorrow.
I'm getting married tomorrow.
I'm getting married tomorrow.
I'm getting married tomorrow.

I'm getting married tomorrow.
That came up on us fast. At about 1000 miles per hour, I'd say.
What did John Lennon say? "Life is what happens when you're busy making other plans."
The always witty Mr. Lennon also said "As usual, there is a great woman behind every idiot."
I couldn't have said it better myself.
